Mapping Practices in Urbanism and Societal Change
I arkitektens fodspor
This presentation will unfold mapping practices applied at the intersection of research-based-teaching and teaching-based-research within the candidate / masters program Urbanism and Societal Change at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts School of Architecture.
Mapping is employed as an analytical and speculative tool in the exploration of a variety of conditions occurring in space, ranging from sea level rise to population ageing, and from socio-spatial segregation to the securitization of the city.
In these terms, the associated mapping approaches will be framed as an essential aspect in constructing understandings of urban dynamics from an architectural and urban perspective, and in constructing urban contexts as a basis for spatial interventions.
